Sailing Tour through the Laguna de los Siete Colores

4.Sailing Tour through the Laguna de los Siete Colores

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,521 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $40Best value

Spend about three hours sailing Bacalar’s Seven Colors Lagoon with a group of no more than eight. Captain-led stops include Cenote Negro, Pirate Canal, and Bird Island, with two swims, seasonal fruit, beer, and water. Guides such as Leo, Cami, Zazil, and Maria are known for friendly service and calm, informative sailing.

“Great tour! It was nice to only have a small group (about 6), there were two groups which set of on separate boats. Both of our crew were lovely and friendly. The water is beautiful, both areas we swum in were crystal clear. We also had plenty of time, it didn't feel rushed at all. Only thing to note (which I wasn't aware of) is that you can't wear sunscreen in the lagoon, you're asked to shower when you arrive if so. Some people had long sleeve tops to swim in, which I'd recommend as I got quite sunburnt.”

Bacalar: Group Sailing Trip with Swimming and Drinks

5.Bacalar: Group Sailing Trip with Swimming and Drinks

★★★★★★★★★★4.8 · 585 reviews · 3 hours · from $40

Set out from Casa China Bacalar with an English- or Spanish-speaking guide such as Hugo, Angelo, Nami, or David. This three-hour sailing trip visits Cenote Esmeralda, Pirate Canal, Cenote Negro, and Bird Island, with time for swimming, fruit, natural drinks, and three beers per person.

“We had a great sail with Danny & Saul. They were very informative about the lagoon and you can tell that they sincerely liked their job and enjoyed giving us amazing service. You can't come to Bacalar without doing this trip. The only problem was three hours was not enough! Oh, you have to cover up since no sunscreen of any kind is allowed since it will damage the ecology of the lagoon. I didn't cover well enough and got a burn I definitely felt in the shower.”
